Joe Herbertson is the former head of Research & Development for BHP. He is a key advisor to the minerals industry, combining consultancy with the development of Natural Step Australia and research at the University of Newcastle. Joe Herbertson is also the team leader of the national minerals industry Sustainable Resource Processing (SRP) project. In his presentation Joe Herbertson reviews the opportunities, pressures and emerging technologies in environmentally preferable materials and gave a glimpse of a roadmap for the future.
